Electrosphere Overview
Aircraft and Weapons
Because of the year that this story takes place in, there are various fictional aircraft and weaponry to deploy throughout Ace Combat 3. Aircrafts range from General Resource's modified or new variants of F-15s, F-16s, and F-22s or the more exotic fictional designs of Neucom's 'Radical' aircraft. The weapons that these aircraft can deploy range from the classic 20mm Vulcan Cannon and Standard Missiles to futuristic Pulse Laser Guns and MIRVs. There is even an unlockable Orbital Satellite Lasers (OSL). For more information, see AC3IC Aircraft List.
Various Story Branches and Endings
Ace Combat 3 (JP) uses an extensive branching storyline system alongside player decision points. These decision points allow the player to join different factions throughout the game and unlock various missions and endings that are not available to other factions. The Branching Storyline and Decision Point systems are what made Ace Combat 3 one of the most popular Ace Combat installments in the entire series. See Decision Points for more information.
Other Information
-Most Cut Scenes are done in Japanese Animation and 3d Pre-rendered Cut Scenes.
-This games take place in 2040, making it the farthest installment in the AC Timeline.

Decision Points
Ace Combat 03: Electrosphere [JP] is the first of the Ace Combat Series to utilize the multi-path or branching storyline system to tell its entire story. In the game, there are four organizations (the fourth appears later) in which the player can choose to join. Because of the possibility to move from one group to another, Ace Combat 03 [JP] has five possible endings. These endings can only be reached by utilizing decision points.
When the opportunity to switch from one organization to another presents itself, it is known as a Decision Point. In cases of switching organizations, the player is usually asked to follow the aircraft of a pilot from that organization if they would like to change organizations or fly away from the pilot asking them to join their organization, if the player chooses to remain a part of their current organization. In other instances destroying a priority target or an ally can affect which organization you join.
There are also special missions which contain decision points that effect game play by unlocking missions which stay within an organization’s storyline, but stray from the usual missions that organization would have for the player. Examples include leaving an airbase without permission, helping a fellow wingman or the option of destroying a priority target.
For specific examples go to the Mission Briefings and Information Page and refer to missions marked with [Decision Point].

Electrosphere Direct Audio
Ace Combat 3 is probably the most unique of all Ace Combat games, and this is especially apparent in its music. An ambient, electronic score is used to keep the gameplay in a modern, futuristic setting. The original soundtrack uses a similar synthesizer style used in Namco's Ridge Racer Type 4, a game produced only months earlier than Ace Combat 3 and included some of the staff who were part of the Ace Combat 3 Namco Sound Team.
